Great article about the US vs. the UK versions of The Office

thanks for the link! i'm glad to see that UK won. I've watched all of UK and a few of US and I think the US one is crippled by having such a weak Tim. That guy is just too good looking to provide much comedy. He'd get laid all the time in real life. I was very glad to be reminded of "the Dance" by that article.

It's close call though. The last couple episodes of the US version practically had me crying with laughter.

"The “UK” and “US” series aren’t quite on equal footing here, since “UK” ran its course with two six-episode series and two 40-minute Christmas specials. “US,” meanwhile, is still going strong at the end of its third season, with an episode count totaling nearly more than four times the run of “UK.”"

I'd also like to point out that this observation casts a negative look at "UK", or at least an unfair comparison. In the UK, a season (which is called a "series" there) usually only runs 6-8 episodes, in contrast to the standard of 21 in the US. Why that is the case, I have no idea, but you can't expect "Office" to break the UK standard any more than you should expect "Office" (US) to break the American standard by having 41 episodes in a season.
