When I was a kid I used to (and still do) love these NASA drawings of space colonies that would supposedly exist in the future, sometimes showing up in Science books and magazines. According to NASA "we may see hundreds of thousands of orbital space settlements in our solar system alone" someday. Too bad (or maybe not too bad, since whatever drives us to do this will mean things are pretty fucked up on the ground) I'll be dead by then.
