now this is more like it!!! and about time!

this has got to be one of the most nonsensical marketing schemes i have ever seen.

it just blows my mind? company A creates a successful and innovative product. company H sees that all other companies that are trying to compete with A can't even come close, so H decides to become friends and team up with A to sell the exact same product with a modified logo (A+H instead of just A) because as the saying goes: "if you can't beat em'...". so A agrees to let H sell the product, and why not. A will still hold the patent, will now collect royalties on top of their own profits, and get free promotion since H will be dumping a whole lot of money on advertisement selling A's product by trying to re-invent their image in order to look "cool" and "hip", since the image H is currently known for is out-dated and cheap (no quotes needed). the product has no additional features (and actually has less supported features) and will cost the exact same price.
GREAT IDEA GUYS...!!!!!!!!!

*sigh*

saw a great movie last night. i'll give you a clue which movie it was ^^^^. i am always skeptical about any movie produced by MTV, and it took me a about five minutes to make a break through and love this movie. go see it. if you don't like it, you are lame.

since i've been in the new house i've been having "what's that sound in the middle of the night" episodes where i get up in the middle of the night and walk around to see what's going on. i think i've finally come to realize that it's just the automatic ice maker dropping ice in the automatic ice maker receptacle and/or the automatic sprinklers turning on and freaking out the cats at 4:30 am. last night i slept like a baby. one thing i miss about the old apartment was how we could leave the windows open 24/7 and any sound was just a car passing by, or a drunk stumbling through. i'm sure i'll get over it.

here is a pretty decent show review of the frenchmen playing in london. i think i may need vocal lessons or just give up singing all together since i really am trying to sing on key, but every review of our music (good and bad) likes to point out the "flat male vocals".

weekend recap

since we've moved into the new place, niki and i have come to realize a few things. we have no functional furniture suitable for a house. furniture is expensive. all the furniture stores in town sell stuff that even my parents would think looks completely tacky. either that, or it's over priced garbage.

we spent all saturday morning coming to terms with this, then we found a place that sells decent looking furniture, but still.. too damn much!

after that waste of a morning, we got ready for a small house warming/wine party in order to gather up the motivation to clean house and get rid of some wine we've been overstocking. somehow we managed to have more of it when it was all over with, so here is an open invite: if you ever want to come over for a glass of wine, just give me a call and/or just come on over (as long as it's a decent hour). i'm serious. i'll even bust out the "good stuff".

niki and i got our bikes out of storage sunday (the last place we lived had no room and no place to lock them up). i re-lubed the chains, pumped up the tires and then we headed over to kickball (now at 6pm ever sunday @21st and C...another open invite) and it went well until the other team picked up all the late comers, and wound up having about a quarter more people than my team.

finished season 2 of curb your enthusiasm. the last two episodes were somewhat anti-climatic, but over all it's still one of the best shows.

found a place that sells brown sauce and made my self a breakfast of sausage (morning star), beans, and potatoes in order to remember england.

ahhh....england.

house life aint that bad

almost all moved in to the new house! all last week i was feeling the serenity that comes with having a sparcely filled living quarter, but now half of my living room is filled with boxes. serenity now!!!!!!!!

last week i did my laundry at home for the first time in about 4 years. no more laundry mats for me. i can definitely tell that my washer at home is getting my clothes ten times cleaner than the ones at the mat.

i'm still debating on if i want to "edge" my lawn, or just let it grow over the sidewalk. WWBBD (what would bilbo baggins do?)

time to make another trip to IKEA. trying to duplicate the living room set on page 124.

steady diet of nothing... but chips

pictured above: the cut-outs

loved the UK. i don't know what people are complaining about when they talk about the food over there. everything i tried was fab. loved Sweden too, but felt a little farther from home while over there.

it was great being trapped on a mini bus for a week with pipas and the cut-outs.
it was a dream come true to share the stage with smiller (for him, of course ;)
surreal seeing drunk-out-of-their-minds Swedish kids singing every word to one of my songs.

no one got on my nerves once.

had chips in London
scotch in Scotland (Glasgow)
snoos in Sweden (forgot to get Swedish fish)
beer is way better in bars and pubs in the UK.

kind of glad to sleep in my own bed last night, but wish i could have stayed a bit longer.
