FRIDAY TOP FIVE

here is my top five for friday:

1. laura watling and the frenchmen : shelflife recording wonders team up with northern california's indie-pop sensation to form the ultimate music super group. for one show only! coming to some dive bar in SF on july 25th.

2. stevie wonder compilation cdr i made for myself from a 4 cd box set of his. hardly any hits, all overlooked by the mainstream, yet brilliant songs.

3. el azteca : for those of you who don't know, i commute and work in roseville. it's been tough finding a good mom-and-pop restaurant in the land of strip-malls and housing developments, but i finally found this great mexican place on foothills blvd (if anyone is interested) where they probably have the best mexican food in the entire sacramento region.

4. buzz : http://www.buzzmachines.com. a while back a friend of mine mentioned this program called buzz that all the techno kids are using to make "laptop-music". i really didn't think anything of it until recently when another friend of mine asked me to bust some phat rhymes over some beat he was making. it turned out he was using the same exact program, and showed me what it was capable of. 808, 909 drum machines. analog synth emulators and tons of crazy effects, sequencer. and it's frikin free!

5. cats
