Nothing negative was said, I'm just not following the story all that well (was this article rejected from Alive and Kicking or something?).

That's what you want to say to that article. There's so much "nobody cares but you, and even you shouldn't" information in there. Bus surfing?
that was yet another news and review article where my brain refuses to read it after a couple of lines. i think it's supposed to be funny.
