last night i caught the last 15 minutes of "back to the future". what a great movie. they sure don't make them like that anymore. it got me thinking... that was a great, original, big hollywood movie. does such a thing exist anymore? it seems big budget movies these days focus more on special effects and less on storyline. i think computer generated effects technology has made directors lazy.

also...i feel so old. Back to the Future came out almost 20 years ago!!! it's funny because when i was watching it last night, it didn't really look that old to me, not like movies that came out in the 60s looked to me 20 years ago when i was a 9 year old. sometimes i wonder if an 9 year old today who watches that movie, sees it as a period piece.

rediscovering a sacramento burrito mecca



i actually been to this place before, but i don't remember liking it so much, but last week while hanging out with niki, camille & katy at taq. guad. in davis (pre-shins show), katy mentioned a place "jaun in a million" on broadway that she likes a lot. i love puns (especially french puns...that has nothing to do with this story...sorry, i'm getting off topic like my friend chris o), so the name alone sparked interest. it turns out i had been there already over a year ago, but like i said before, it didn't really seem that great (yet not bad either).

anyhow, josh and i decided to hang out last night, so i suggested we go there for dinner. he had the steak and potato burrito, i had the veggie (add crema y guacamole at an extra cost). great stuff (minus the fact i had to pay extra for the two essential ingredients of a good burrito).

why?

seems iPod's operating system is similar to windows in that it can sometimes be fixed with a little (ctrl-alt-delete) action, except on the iPod it's (play/pause-menu). life is ok again.

there is this Vietnamese guy at my work (who i've known since my pascal programming class days at my J.C.) who happens to be a great guy and very intelligent, yet he has his own interpretation of the english language. i love it!

remind me never to purchase the CDs of semi-mainstream hip hop acts. these should be obtained via illegal downloading only. i got the newest ghostface killa's CD, and i admit i like a few tracks on there, still, i'd just download those songs and discard the rest if i had to do it all over again. this seems to be the case of every non-indie hip-hop album i've purchased.

with that said, madvillain "madvillainy" is still on my "top 10 albums of the year" list.

great game yesterday



I got all inspired to get new bball shoes after playing ball on saturday and watching the amazing kings game sunday. it's not an easy task if you wear size 14. most of the shoes (er..I mean "all of the shoes") I liked either didn't come in the size or color I wanted, so I had to settle for some decent looking nike airs. I wanted black, but had to deal with white with blue trim.

right after the third song, the lights and sound went off due to a blown fuse

everyone stayed, even with the power outage

our amps still worked, so charles and i did an instrumental of "cherub rock"

things got fixed and we were back on

some dude was filming us for a DVD zine

played all our new songs

no one could hear my vocals (as usual)

right before i went on vacation, i was busy as hell here at work. over time i weaned myself off of wasting away the day surfing the web at work (thus the lack of postings you see here).

when i got back, i figured i'd continue where i left off, and keep being a busy little bee and stay clear of the web for personal business. well, now i'm back, moving at a snails pace with my work and getting back to sedating myself online. i wish i could just go home.
